Avoid tanning or being in the sun altogether for the duration of your treatments. This is because if you tan during any IPL(Intense Pulse Light)/ Laser hair removal or photocorrection treatment, you run the risk of hypopigmenting (whitening) or hyperpigmenting (darkening) those areas. You should also wear sunblock SPF35 or higher with Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide between treatments and at least four weeks after your final IPL(Intense Pulse Light)/ Laser hair removal and/or photocorrection treatment in order to protect the skin from any possible pigmenting. Adding a consistent regimen of sunblock is something everyone should consider to help fight the constant damage your skin receives from everyday living.

After hair removal treatment, you may notice a small amount of swelling and the feeling of a light sunburn. This is normal and means we have been successful in targeting your actively growing hair follicles. The swelling usually lasts only a few hours and the sunburn-like effects last only a few days. Aloe vera gel or some other after-sunburn gel such as Desitin may be recommended depending on the treatment. Darker pigmented skin may have more discomfort that lighter skin during and after treatments and may require aloe vera gel or an antibiotic ointment for a longer period of time.

Over the next 3-4 weeks your body pushes out the remaining hair.

Avoid picking or scratching the treated skin. DO NOT USE any other hair removal methods or products on the treated area during the course of your IPL / Laser treatments, as it will prevent you from achieving your best results.

Makeup may be used after the treatment, unless there is epidermal blistering. It is recommended to use new makeup to reduce the possibility of infection. Just make sure that you have moisturizer applied under your makeup. Any moisturizer without alphahydroxy acids will work.

When hair follicles enter the active growth phase, they can be treated. All hair follicles are not in the active growth phase at the same time, so 3-6 treatments are usually necessary to treat all hair follicles in their active growth phases. During your free consultation we will explain in detail how the procedure works and how we can help you achieve the results you desire.
